It is with a heavy heart that we announce the cancellation of Maharajas Of Comedy, a stand-up comedy show scheduled to take place on the 20th of January 2018 at KLCC Plenary Hall. Due to unavoidable circumstances, we have had to make this difficult decision and apologize for any inconvenience caused.


For those of you who have purchased the show tickets, you will be refunded by our official ticketing agent, Ticketpro Malaysia.

For the first time ever, Phoenix PR brings together not one, not two, not three, but four of India's funniest comics for a night of never-ending laughter. Kanan Gill, Varun Thakur, Sahil Shah, and Anuvab Pal will be taking the stage at the exquisite KLCC Plenary Hall, joined by Malaysia's funniest doctor, Jason Leong as the evening's host.

Once a software writer, Kanan Gill has morphed himself into an actor, and a rockstar comedian. He exploded onto the stand-up comedy scene by winning the Punch Line Bangalore competition, going straight on to win the open-mic at The Comedy Store in Bombay and has done shows all over India. Armed with his weirder sense of humour, he always keeps audiences in splits.

Varun Thakur is India's latest internet sensation who has taken over platforms like Snapchat and Facebook with his acidic self-deprecatory humour. Co-founder of SnG Comedy, a popular comedy collective that has amassed 470,000 subscribers and 61 million views, the comedian has been selling out shows and venues with his hour-long comedy special, Vicky This Side, Varun That Side. In case reality wasn't enough for this comic, the show is also streaming on Amazon Prime. Varun has also anchored shows on MTV, MTV Indies, UTV Bindaas and HotStar, and has done corporate shows for Google, Mercedes, HDFC, Standard Chartered, Radio Mirchi and several others.

Sahil Shah is regarded as one of the most promising names on the comedy circuit. He rose to popularity as one of the founding individuals of the prestigious East India Comedy (EIC) troupe. Known for his stand-up, he's performed at the incredible Comedy Store and been found in urban communities from Bangalore to Dubai. He appeared in the YouTube arrangement "The Ad Show" and has shown up on "UR Fired" and "The Front Row".

Sahil Shah

Anuvab Pal is an internationally renowned playwright, screenwriter, stand-up comic, and author. His comedy special The Nation Wants To Know, has had over 500 shows and has gained popularity in various countries. The Times of India listed him among India's top five English comedians in the country and he also wrote for films like Loins of Punjab Presents.

Last but not least is Malaysia's very own funny doctor, Jason Leong. He once opened for Harith Iskander's Laugh Malaysia in front of 9,000 people at the sold-out Stadium Putra, Bukit Jalil. It was also the first English stand-up comedy show to be broadcasted on Astro First, Pay Per View. In 2015, Dr. Jason continued to push boundaries as he represented Malaysia in stand-up comedy at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2016 in 22 shows over 3 weeks. He also featured in Malaysia's first Bahasa Malaysia stand-up comedy show called Komediri Bersama Harith Iskander which aired on Astro Warna.
